establishing institutional sharing of administrative data, the Bank is positive to
pursue these initiatives to lavish in the benefits of the low-cost, micro-level
administrative data in supporting policy formulation, analysis and surveillance.
Moving forward, the Bank envisages broader needs and demand for the usage
of administrative data with greater collaboration among the organisations,
including Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), SSM etc., to leverage on the huge
potential of administrative data. However, rigorous effort to pre-emptively
address issues and challenges arising from the data sharing arrangement
needs to be established and agreed collectively among the organisations in
Malaysia towards improving the quality of official statistics for better
collaboration, transparency, accessibility and overall society well-being.
