3. Government Spending in Disaster Risk Reduction was Recorded
by the Agencies on Engaged in Social Welfare, Public Works and
Highways as well as Transportation!
In 2016, most of the expenditure went to the Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DSWD) with Php 10.0 billion followed by Department of
Public Works and Highways and Department of Transportation with Php 3.0
billion and Php 2.3 billion, respectively. On the average, 54 percent of the total
expenditure on DRR activities went to DSWD from 2009-2017.
