be asked to handle practical problems, case studies or small research
projects of applied nature. Training should also include the
preparation of layout for field experiments and their actual
implementation in the field conditions.
The use of computers needs to be integrated with the class room teaching.
The theory needs to be supported and explained by live practical examples
through computers. Students have to be trained in the use of computers and
application of various standard statistical software packages for analysis of
data using different statistical techniques.
