4. Conclusion
The Australian Labour Account provides a comprehensive picture of the
labour market by building on and complementing other measures produced
from survey based collections and administrative data sources. It allows for
the analysis of both main and secondary jobs, and produces industry based
estimates of the total number of persons employed for the first time. In
addition, the Australian Labour Account provides hours worked data which are
on a consistent basis with measures of economic production, greatly
improving the measurement of labour productivity.
