materials and an increased exchange of practical experience between the
countries of the region through expert meetings. The effectiveness of this
activity has been repeatedly noted by experts from CIS countries during the
meetings. This work is also regularly reviewed and supported by the Council
of Heads of CIS NSOs.

4. Discussion and Conclusion
At present, only intermediate results of the work on improving agricultural
and rural statistics in the CIS countries have been obtained. CIS-Stat expresses
its appreciation to the World Bank and FAO for the productive support of this
work and plans to continue making efforts in this area.
